So I finally went olde skool and bought a SoundBlaster Z SE. I took two baby aspirin to calm the bloodstream after the last shocking sonic attack. For a while, I thought maybe it was fixed? Nope. I found an update on the Aorus site for the ALC4080 and a DTS update. If I continue with this I will definitely have to increase my life insurance. I'm tempted to chuck the lot and just throw in another audio card like the old days. After researching for a while (and finding this thread) I see it's likely the mobo/drivers. I had no issues for the last month so at first I thought there was something wrong with the Z906.

I was watching a youtube video when the static attack first began. Up until now I was running 3.5mm out to an old sound bar I had but when I reformatted, I also bought a new Logitech z906 5.1 surround setup and connected it today via SPDIF optical. I had been running this system for almost a month and had just reinstalled windows to fix other low level issues. Same issue with Z590 Aorus Ultra, ALC4080 running through SPDIF.
